Two weeks after Joe Biden’s confidential briefings and papers were found at the Penn Biden Center, AG Merrick Garland named a special counsel to look into former President Trump, not Biden.

On November 18, Garland appointed Jack Smith, a former federal prosecutor, as special counsel for two investigations into Trump by the DOJ. About two weeks earlier, on November 2, the president’s lawyer allegedly found Biden’s secret papers at Biden’s so-called “think tank,” the Pennsylvania Biden Center.

According to the timeline, Garland appointed a special prosecutor to look into Biden’s 2024 presidential rival for handling secret documents while possibly being aware that Biden had allegedly done the same thing.

Just six days before the November elections, Garland might have been aware of Biden’s mismanagement of documents. Garland’s decision to keep the disclosures a secret until January, according to critics, was motivated by a desire to help Democrats in the midterm elections.

Mike Davis, the founder and president of the pro-Trump Article III Project, referred to Biden’s assertion that he was unaware that sensitive records were kept at the Penn Biden Center as “crap.”

He tweeted, “Biden relocated these stolen secret records twice: once before January 20, 2017 (left White House), and once after transferring into a new office in Feb. 2018. Biden’s personal files contained these stolen classified documents. A Special Counsel must be appointed by Garland.”

There is no disputing Biden’s uncompromising stance on the improper handling of secret documents. On “60 Minutes” in September, Biden criticized Trump as “irresponsible” for reportedly keeping top-secret materials at Mar-a-Lago.

“How could that possibly occur? I don’t see how somebody could be that careless,” the president stated. “And it’s completely reckless, too.”

“And I wondered, what information was there that may jeopardize sources and procedures?” Added Biden.

Because of Biden’s criticism of Trump, some people have pointed out that while Trump was president, he had the power to declassify records, whereas Biden, as vice president, did not.

“Vice Presidents are not permitted to declassify records. And the fact that Joe Biden had access to secret materials while serving as vice president underscores the necessity for a thorough investigation,” according to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who spoke to C-SPAN.
