Rick Scott ignites firestorm when he warns commies and socialists to ‘think twice’ before visiting Florida

Radical leftists aren’t the only ones capable of issuing travel advisories and Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) triggered more than a few with a re-upped warning for those who balk at “freedom, liberty, capitalism — things like that.”

Having preceded America’s Governor Ron DeSantis as the executive of the Sunshine State, Scott has done his fair share of upsetting the Washington, D.C. establishment — including serving one combative term as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, often bucking Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell’s status quo.

Now, as The New York Times recently reported, he may be considering his own late entry into the increasingly crowded 2024 GOP presidential nomination contest, the Florida lawmaker, already seeking his second term in the Senate, has drawn a line in the culture war against communists and socialists.

“Sen. Rick Scott here. Let me give you a travel warning,” he began in a video posted Tuesday morning that had over five million views at the time of this posting. “If you’re a socialist, communist, somebody that believes in big government, I would think twice, think twice, if you’re thinking about taking a vacation or moving to Florida.”

“We’re the free state of Florida. We actually don’t believe in socialism. We actually know people and we — some people in our state lived under it,” the senator continued, alluding to immigrant populations who fled regimes like that in Cuba in search of freedom. “We know people lived under socialism. It’s not good. It’s not good for anybody.”

“So, if you’re thinking about it — if you think about coming to Florida and you’re a socialist or a communist, think twice. We like freedom, liberty, capitalism — things like that,” he closed.

Of course, despite the fact that the NAACP, Human Rights Campaign, and other left-leaning groups had already issued their own travel advisories against Florida, meant as an attack against DeSantis and the Republican legislature’s repeated victories against Marxist ideologies, Scott’s suggestion that they not “New York his Florida” was cause for a hyperbolic response.

Fuck off, Fascist

“thanks, rick for threatening americans, continuing to hold us hostage after letting trump get away with treason, after letting trump get away with obstruction, after letting trump get away with abuse of power, after letting russia get away with interfering in our elections–but no,” came one unhinged reply.

“Sorry my dude, this is America, the greatest country on earth,” opined another. “Move to North Korea if you want to impose restrictions on citizens traveling about the country.”

Rick Scott
A sitting U.S. Senator
Is threatening American citizens that they better stay out off Florida based on their political ideologies
So apparently
Florida is it’s own country now
And that country is 1930’s Nazi Germany

Those struggling with basic comprehension aside, there were plenty of responses to Scott’s suggestion that the purple-turned-red state stays that way and continues thriving under its current leadership strategy of taking the fight to the left.

Well done Rick Scott! Awesome!!
