In many ways, the power NOT to report is more damaging to an informed public than what is reported.
Folks who take all or most of their information from MSNBC – for example – are the most ill-informed folks on many important political matters – and certainly are unaware of the facts and arguments that do not comport with the cable news platform’s partisan political narratives.
Viewers of MSNBC are less aware of the gravity of the deadly crisis occurring every day at the southern border. They tend to slough off the Hunter Biden laptop and financial issues because they are not provided with the significant details. MSNBC viewers do not get reports on the scope of the crime wave in America – and the impact of the fentanyl crisis. If there is a rare report on such a matter, it is downplayed. But that is the nature of political propaganda.
Now we have the “Twitter Files” – thanks to Elon Musk. Upon taking control of Twitter, the billionaire businessman has started to release internal documents that show that the claims and fears of Republicans – especially the conservative variety – and lovers of the First Amendment were justified. Major portions of the national media and social media were in an unholy alliance with the Democrats on a range of issues.
Twitter was operating as an adjunct to the Democratic Party and the political left. What is coming into clear focus is a classic fascist relationship between government and powerful private sector interests – including major portions of the mainstream media. MSNBC is the most obvious example.
If you follow MSNBC, they are spinning the Twitter Files as a non-story when in fact it is a huge story. But they go further. They are in a full-blown attack on Musk – as if he is the one who abused the Twitter platform.
Anyone who cares about American democracy should be very concerned by what Musk is revealing. The Files show a conspiracy between the Democratic Party, and powerful government institutions (the White House, the FBI, and Homeland Security).
What the Twitter Files show is that Twitter was part of a left-wing political conspiracy to block information – to censor opinions and facts that tend to push back and undermine the credibility of the partisan narratives.
The Hunter Biden Case has been the first example. Musk’s Twitter Files have shown that there was a conspiratorial partnership designed to (1) prevent damaging information regarding Hunter, his business interest, and THE laptop from reaching the public and (2) diminish the credibility of any information that was reaching the public.
Initially, the White House and the FBI put out the false claim that the Hunter laptop was the creation of Russian propaganda. Social platforms, such as Twitter, were pressured by the folks in Washington to censure any and all reports that provided details in counterpoint to the White House/FBI false claim. The attempts to block critical information were so extreme that the front-page reports of the New York Post were banned from various social platforms.
The media – including the biggest left-wing news outlets – either censored the Biden laptop story or reported that it was fake. The only thing fake was the reporting of the story at the time. Since then, publicans like the New York Times and Washington Post have admitted that the laptop and its contents were legitimately Hunter’s. By that time, however, the misinformation from the White House, the news media, and the FBI successfully prevented the potentially damaging story from reaching the public BEFORE the 2020 presidential election. Mission accomplished.
Another major story that was censured at the request of the White House involved the Covid Pandemic. Information counter to the narrative and the policies of the White House were deemed to be dangerous disinformation that should be kept away from the public by brutal censorship.
There is still an effort by the political/media combine to suppress information. Fortunately, the GOP now has control of the House – and there are enough serious questions about Hunter, Frank, and even Joe Biden to warrant an investigation — Covid, too.
Maybe a new Select Committee composed only of members who desire — and have a political vestige interest — in nailing Biden & Co. Oh, but that would not be very fair, would it?
Given the amount of data Musk is providing, there will be a lot more details about which to write in the future. Stay tuned.
