Senator Lindsey Graham has renewed the call for accountability at the FBI, arguing that James Comey and other senior officials misled the courts, suppressed evidence, and pushed false narratives in order to bring down Donald Trump. Appearing on Fox News\u2019 Sunday Morning Futures<\/em>, Graham called the Crossfire Hurricane probe \u201cthe most corrupt investigation in the history of the country\u201d and insisted that Comey\u2019s indictment was \u201clong overdue.\u201d He added, \u201cThis is the tip of the iceberg.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graham tied the origins of the Trump\u2013Russia collusion story directly to Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign. He pointed out that in August 2016, Comey attended a meeting with President Obama, CIA Director John Brennan, and others, where intelligence was presented showing that the \u201cnarrative\u201d linking Trump to Russia was a Clinton strategy to deflect from her email server scandal. By September, a memo confirmed that her campaign had signed off on this plan, yet the FBI continued to pursue Trump and his advisers. \u201cEvery time there was some exculpatory information, the court never heard about it; it was swept under the rug,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Steele Dossier and the FISA Court<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the clearest examples of misconduct involved the Steele dossier. Graham explained that by January 2017, the FBI already knew its source dismissed the information as \u201cbar talk\u201d and \u201chearsay.\u201d He recounted, \u201cThe man who provided the information to Steele said to two FBI agents in January of 2017, \u2018This is all bar talk, hearsay, it was never meant to be used in court.\u2019 And they still went after Carter Page with a warrant two more times.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this, FBI officials used the dossier to secure surveillance warrants. In February 2018, they even told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Steele was credible, despite knowing from their own files that his source had disavowed the claims. Graham blasted this deception: \u201cSomebody needs to go to jail for this. This is a second lie. This is a second crime. They lied to the FISA court and to the Senate Intelligence Committee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FBI\u2019s Trap for Michael Flynn<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The FBI\u2019s targeting of General Michael Flynn further demonstrated the agency\u2019s corruption. Handwritten notes from January 2017 asked whether the goal was \u201ctruth\/admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?\u201d Flynn was interviewed without legal counsel despite the FBI already possessing wiretaps that showed no crimes. The interview report was later edited by agents who never even spoke with Flynn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flynn pleaded guilty after prosecutors threatened to charge his son, but President Trump called the case a disgrace. \u201cWhat happened to General Michael Flynn, a war hero, should never be allowed to happen to a citizen of the United States again,\u201d he tweeted. Critics argue Flynn\u2019s prosecution was designed solely to keep the Russia narrative alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obama\u2019s Wiretapping and the Manafort Surveillance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The FBI\u2019s surveillance of Trump\u2019s campaign chairman Paul Manafort proved that the Obama administration was listening in on Trump\u2019s inner circle. \u201cWhen he talked to Trump, the Obama Admin was listening. When he talked about campaign strategy, the Obama Admin was listening,\u201d one report concluded. CNN admitted that surveillance on Manafort continued into early 2017 but produced no charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Comey publicly denied having evidence that Obama had wiretapped Trump, but as Newt Gingrich observed, \u201cThis is a radically bigger scandal than anything about Russia.\u201d Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano asked the critical question: \u201cWere they listening to Paul Manafort during the campaign in order to find out what Donald Trump was going to do next and help Hillary?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secret Society and Missing Messages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson revealed that text messages from FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page suggested the existence of a \u201csecret society\u201d working against Trump. In one exchange, Strzok wrote that the FBI needed an \u201cinsurance policy\u201d in case Trump won. Representative Trey Gowdy called the bias \u201cstunning\u201d and \u201cmanifest bias not just against Trump, but against his kids, against his business interests.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make matters worse, five months of texts between Strzok and Page were conveniently \u201clost\u201d by the FBI. These missing records covered Trump\u2019s inauguration, Flynn\u2019s firing, Comey\u2019s firing, and Mueller\u2019s appointment. Senator Johnson said he was \u201csuspicious\u201d of the loss, while Attorney General Jeff Sessions promised to \u201cleave no stone unturned\u201d in recovering them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Coup from Within<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe even admitted that he and others discussed wearing a wire to entrap Trump and explored invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him. As critics pointed out, the amendment applies only in cases of presidential incapacity, not political opposition. This revealed how far FBI leadership was willing to go to oust a duly elected president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Steele dossier, the Flynn setup, the wiretapping of Manafort, the secret \u201cinsurance policy,\u201d and the missing texts all fit a larger pattern. Graham warned, \u201cThe reason they didn\u2019t investigate, the reason they didn\u2019t disclose, the reason they leaked information is they\u2019re trying to take Donald Trump down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was not just bias but a weaponization of America\u2019s most powerful law enforcement agency. As Graham concluded, accountability is overdue.
