Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) joined \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight\u201d on Wednesday to discuss his recent push to ban all land purchases by the Chinese Communist government, calling for a \u201cflat ban.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo one of the challenges in Florida, so many people have moved here, but real estate prices have gotten really high,\u201d Tucker asked the governor. \u201cForeign countries, China specifically buying up more real estate doesn\u2019t help any American. This is happening in other states as well. What is your idea for dealing with this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want no CCP land purchases, and obviously, they are not going to do it directly,\u201d DeSantis explained, as reported by Breitbart<\/a>. \u201cThey will have shell companies, so we\u2019re going to have to have a system in place to scrutinize this. But why would we want them buying farmland? They had very little farmland in the United States, even 10 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow they have significant holdings, not as much in Florida, but you do have it in other parts of the country,\u201d the Florida governor said. \u201cWhy would we want the CCP to own land near a military base or own critical infrastructure?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo we\u2019re looking for a flat ban, and so we\u2019re going to work with the Florida Legislature to get that done,\u201d he continued. \u201cTucker, American policymakers for a generation have been empowering the CCP. They said it would end up working out. China would become a democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn fact, this is a very serious threat to our country,\u201d DeSantis emphasized, asking, \u201cWhy would we want them to have even more influence over American society than they already do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\u00a0similar effort was launched by 2024 presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump on Wednesday in a message from Truth Social, as previously reported by the\u00a0DC Enquirer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChina is buying up our country,\u201d the 2024 presidential candidate began. \u201cWhile corrupt Democrats and RINO-type politicians in Washington have been spending trillions of dollars on the green new deal nonsense, foolish foreign wars, and providing lavish benefits to illegal aliens all from over the planet, China has been spending trillions of dollars to take over the crown jewels of the United States economy. And they are doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChina is buying up our technology, they are buying up food supplies, they are buying up our farmland, they are buying up our minerals and natural resources, they are buying up our ports and shipping terminals, and with the help of a corrupt influence peddler like the Biden Crime Family, China is even trying to buy up the pillars of the US energy industry because frankly Biden and the group don\u2019t care about real energy,\u201d he explained. \u201cThey only care about nonsense energy. Energy that doesn\u2019t work and it never will.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike I\u2019ve long said economic security is national security,\u201d Trump continued in his message posted to Truth Social. \u201cChina does not allow American companies to take over their critical infrastructure and America shouldn\u2019t allow China to take over our critical infrastructure. I didn\u2019t allow it when I was president and I won\u2019t allow it when we become president again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is becoming clear that some of the biggest names in the Republican Party are taking notice of Communist China\u2019s activities in-country and are more than willing to exercise their political power to put an end to it. Other state governors should take both DeSantis\u2019 and Trump\u2019s lead and ban the Chinese government and its various entities from buying land in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
