Former President Donald Trump is poised to make a dramatic return to Twitter and Facebook, the social media platforms that he and his team wielded to such great effect leading up to his 2016 election victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to\u00a0NBC News<\/a>, an anonymous Republican reportedly related to the established network said that \u201cTrump is probably coming back to Twitter. It\u2019s just a question of how and when.\u201d They added that this information came from conversations with Trump himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been talking about it for weeks, but Trump speaks for Trump, so it\u2019s anyone\u2019s guess what he\u2019ll do or say or when.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another unnamed source near the 45th president told the outlet that\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0has been seeking input from his closest advisors about jumping back into the fray on Twitter and his advisors have been workshopping ideas for his first, sure to be seismic, tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Tuesday letter obtained by NBC News to Meta, the parent company of Facebook, the Trump campaign wrote, \u201cWe believe that the ban on President Trump\u2019s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the report stated that the Trump campaign did not threaten legal action, it instead discussed the critical nature of freedom of speech and requested a \u201cmeeting to discuss President Trump\u2019s prompt reinstatement to the platform.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A spokesman from the social media giant declined to comment to NBC, but did say Meta<\/a> \u201cwill announce a decision in the coming weeks in line with the process we laid out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As reported by Breitbart, Congressman and former impeachment manager\u00a0Adam Schiff<\/a>\u00a0(D-CA)\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0to Meta urging them not to allow Trump back on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump has continued to post harmful election content on Truth Social that would likely violate Facebook\u2019s policies, and we have every reason to believe he would bring similar conspiratorial rhetoric back to Facebook, if given the chance,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO of Twitter\u00a0Elon Musk<\/a>\u00a0un-blocked Trump\u2019s account fairly quickly after his takeover of the company, however, Trump has eschewed the use of the platform, instead continuing to communicate with supporters via his Truth Social platform where he can speak without the prospect of a ban over his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
