{"id":574,"date":"2023-01-19T11:32:04","date_gmt":"2023-01-19T16:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nakedpolitics.net\/?p=574"},"modified":"2023-01-19T11:32:04","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T16:32:04","slug":"fbi-decided-not-to-monitor-biden-document-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nakedpolitics.net\/?p=574","title":{"rendered":"FBI Decided Not To Monitor Biden Document Search"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>After President Biden\u2019s lawyers found classified documents at an office he used at a DC think tank,&nbsp;His Justice Department considered, and then declined, a plan to have FBI agents monitor a search for classified documents at his residences, in order to \u2018avoid complicating later stages of the investigation,\u2019 and because Biden\u2019s attorneys \u2018had quickly turned over a first batch and were cooperating,\u2019 the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/justice-department-considered-but-rejected-role-in-biden-documents-search-11673991364\"><em>Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;reports, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, the DOJ decided that it would be just fine for Biden\u2019s lawyers to conduct the additional searches&nbsp;<strong>by themselves<\/strong>, and would agree to immediately notify the Justice Department if they found any other potentially classified records \u2013 after which law-enforcement authorities would take them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrangement meant that FBI agents wouldn\u2019t bear witness to things such as the volume, or contents, of whatever might turn up. This is, of course, the&nbsp;<strong>same FBI&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>that participated in a plan (and fabricated evidence) in a plot to frame former President Trump as a Russian asset, and then ran cover for the Bidens during the 2020 US election&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 telling social media companies that Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop, or anything like it, was likely&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/political\/twitter-files-how-fbi-moved-quash-hunter-laptop-story-and-after-ny-post-bombshell\">Russian disinformation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>In the week since news reports first surfaced about the documents, the incident has drawn parallels to the discovery of a much larger number of documents at former President&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/topics\/person\/donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, which federal agents&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/donald-trump-search-mar-a-lago-fbi-11660267417?mod=article_inline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">obtained a warrant to search in August<\/a>&nbsp;after more than a year of negotiations between Mr. Trump\u2019s lawyers, the National Archives and the Justice Department and after Mr. Trump\u2019s lawyers said all documents had been returned. -WSJ<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>After the initial finding at the Penn-Biden Center in early November (and not disclosed until last week),&nbsp;<strong>classified materials were discovered on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/more-classified-documents-found-at-bidens-delaware-home-white-house_4985604.html\">three separate occasions<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>in Biden\u2019s Wilmington house in December and January, in the garage and a room adjacent to it, White House lawyer Richard Sauber said last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Sauber, the documents were \u201cinadvertently placed\u201d at the locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump supporters have accused the DOJ of a&nbsp;<strong>double standard<\/strong>&nbsp;in the handling of the Biden situation vs. Trump\u2019s.
