In the process, it completely blows up the Democrats\u2019 climate change narrative.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Fox News&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/democrats-climate-change-blame-game-hawaii-fire-confronted-reality-maui-identifies-cause\">reported<\/a>, officials in Maui said the fires were caused by downed power lines and failures by the state\u2019s main power utility company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to these facts, the government of Maui County, Hawaii has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/democrats-climate-change-blame-game-hawaii-fire-confronted-reality-maui-identifies-cause\">filed<\/a>&nbsp;a lawsuit against the Hawaii Electric Company and its subsidiaries for neglecting to properly power down live electrical equipment amid a red flag windstorm earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of this occurrence, downed power lines operated by the utility company sparked the series of deadly fires on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maui County released the following statement regarding the lawsuit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">The lawsuit alleges that the Defendants acted negligently by failing to power down their electrical equipment despite a National Weather Service Red Flag Warning on August 7th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">The lawsuit further alleges HECO\u2019s energized and downed power lines ignited dry fuel such as grass and brush, causing the fires. The lawsuit also alleges failure to maintain the system and power grid, which caused the systemic failures starting three different fires on August 8th.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, Maui County said HECO had a duty \u201cto properly maintain and repair the electric transmission lines, and other equipment including utility poles associated with their transmission of electricity, and to keep vegetation properly trimmed and maintained so as to prevent contact with overhead power lines and other electric equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These facts revealed in this lawsuit pour cold water on the claims by national and Hawaii state Democrats that the fires were caused by \u201cclimate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Cristina Laila previously\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/08\/hawaii-democrat-governor-josh-green-says-climate-change\/?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=hawaii-democrat-governor-josh-green-says-climate-change\">reported<\/a>, Hawaii Governor Josh Green went on CBS\u2019s \u201cFace the Nation\u201d last week and blamed climate change for amplifying the fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VIDEO:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"Hawaii Democrat Gov.
