President Joe Biden\u2019s re-election campaign is off to a bumpy start as the influence-peddling scandal involving his son heats up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodr\u00edguez canceled an MSNBC interview after U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden\u2019s<\/a> foreign business deals, The New York Times<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The report said the abrupt withdrawal was done so the campaign could \u201cavoid facing a litany of questions about the president\u2019s son, according to two people familiar with the scheduling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s a bad sign when the Biden<\/a> camp dodges a left-wing cable network with a history of feeding softball questions to Democrats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The House Oversight Committee is investigating the scandal and has a \u201cBidens\u2019 Influence-Peddling Timeline<\/a>\u201d on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRecords obtained through the Committee\u2019s subpoenas to date reveal that the Bidens and their associates have received over $20 million in payments from foreign entities,\u201d it says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Predictably, liberals and their corporate media allies are downplaying or ignoring the scandal, but some Democrats \u2014 such as Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota \u2014 say it is damaging the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is exactly, exactly why, I\u2019m trying to raise the alarm,\u201d Phillips told Politico<\/a> on Friday after the special counsel was appointed. \u201cIt is another reason why I wish this call to action that I\u2019m trying to inject into the Democratic Party would be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
