Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma signed an executive order Tuesday to define the words \u201cwoman,\u201d \u201cmother\u201d and \u201cfemale,\u201d according to a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/womensbillofrights.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Women\u2019s Bill of Rights<\/a>\u201d was drafted by advocacy groups Independent Woman\u2019s Voice, Independent Women\u2019s Law Center and Women\u2019s Liberation Front in March 2022, who argued that a more specific and comprehensive definition of woman needed to be made due to efforts by \u201cactivists who dispute the biological basis of womanhood,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwv.org\/2022\/03\/iwv-iwlc-wolf-and-other-leading-womens-rights-advocates-call-for-womens-bill-of-rights\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a>&nbsp;to a press release. Stitt issued the \u201cbill of rights\u201d as an executive order Monday, touting the measure as a necessary step to \u201cprotect women,\u201d according to a Tuesday press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am taking decisive executive action to ensure the true definition of the word woman, meaning a biological woman, is what guides the state as we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and sanctity of women across Oklahoma,\u201d Stitt said in a prepared statement. \u201cAs long as I\u2019m governor, we will continue to protect women and ensure women-only spaces are reserved solely for biological women.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cWomen\u2019s Bill of Rights\u201d explains that males and females have a different set of \u201cimmutable biological differences\u201d and that women are the only ones who are able to give birth and get pregnant, while men are \u201cbigger, stronger, and faster\u201d on average than their female counterparts. The executive order criticizes \u201cinconsistencies in court rulings and policy initiatives\u201d for being unable to consistently define a \u201cwoman\u201d and explained that as a result, it is necessary to give Americans clear and defined terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The order further notes that these distinct differences require there to be different approaches to \u201cathletics, prisons or other detention facilities, domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers, locker rooms, restrooms, and other areas where biology, safety, and\/or privacy are implicated.\u201d The move is in contradiction with President Joe Biden\u2019s administration, which has been an avid supporter of transgender\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/04\/06\/biden-admin-guidance-trans-athletes\/\" target=\"_blank\">rights<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/07\/20\/equal-employment-opportunity-commission-poised-shove-left-wing-priorities-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\">inclusion<\/a>\u00a0of biological males in traditionally female-only spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riley Gaines, an adviser for Independent Women\u2019s Voice and 12-time All-American swimmer, applauded Stitt for signing the order to \u201censure female only spaces have a future,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is sad that such basic truths must be spelled out to ensure equal protection, but I applaud Governor Stitt for taking decisive action today,\u201d Gaines said. \u201cEstablishing common language by way of the Women\u2019s Bill of Rights is a way of saying enough is enough: Oklahoman women deserve equal opportunity, privacy, and safety, and this order will help deliver it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A federal\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/118\/bills\/hres115\/BILLS-118hres115ih.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">version<\/a>\u00a0of the order was introduced as a resolution by Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko of Arizona and Republican Sen.
