In one of his greatest gaffes so far, and addlepated Joe Biden referred to Kamala Harris as \u201cPresident Harris\u201d during a recent press conference \u2013 and Twitter exploded!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While confirming his long overdue trip to the southern border, during the speech, Biden referred to the vice president as \u201cPresident Harris\u201d while speaking about the work she has done on the border in recent years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPresident Harris led this effort, led this effort to make this better in the countries from which they are leaving,\u201d Biden remarked. \u201cThanks to her leadership, she\u2019s been able to generate more than $3.2 billion from the private sector to create jobs and opportunities in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Twitter was swift to point out the mistake and criticized Biden for the repeated gaffe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBiden STRUGGLED today in his press conference,\u201d tweeted Congressman-elect Ronny Jackson. \u201cHe called Kamala, \u2018President Harris.\u201d It was a DISASTER.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s time for Joe to retire,\u201d tweeted ACT for America chairman and author Bridgette Gabriel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former New Yorker financial page writer James Surowiecki said the gaffe was reminiscent of former President Donald Trump referring to Rep. Kevin McCarthy as \u201cSteve.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Legal scholar and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley tweeted that the president appeared to be struggling during the press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter referring to \u2018President Harris,\u2019 he said the seizure of \u2018more than 20,000 pounds of deadly fentanyl\u2026[is] enough to kill as many as a 1,000 people,’\u201d Turley tweeted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Just 15,000 pounds is enough to kill every American,\u201d he followed up, along with a link to a press release from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration outlining the sharp rise in \u201cfentanyl-related mass-overdose events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not the first time that Biden mistakenly elevated Harris beyond her current position in the executive branch. In December 2020, Biden referred to Harris as \u201cpresident-elect\u201d during a speech on COVID vaccines, and in March 2021, he referred to her as \u201cPresident Harris\u201d when providing an update on the vaccination effort. In January and October of last year, Biden once again referred to the vice president as \u201cPresident Harris.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
