One assistant principal even told staff to teach children that every person is, by default, \u201cqueer\u201d and \u201csocialist.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20370%20247'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/first-heritage-foundation.s3.amazonaws.com\/live_files\/2023\/06\/MicrosoftTeams-image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load wp-image-999058\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/first-heritage-foundation.s3.amazonaws.com\/live_files\/2023\/06\/MicrosoftTeams-image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-999058\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Parents from the traditionally conservative Armenian and Hispanic communities in Glendale planned to protest the board\u2019s decisions at an upcoming school board meeting.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/04\/10\/california-bill-would-require-schools-to-notify-parents-of-gender-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Antifa Southern California<\/a>&nbsp;called for activists to counter protest against these parents, whom they labeled \u201chate groups.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several parents told Glendale\u2019s board that they were concerned with Glendale\u2019s transgender policies, such as allowing students of the opposite sex to use the same bathrooms and locker rooms, putting their children at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One father told the board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">I graduated from Glendale in \u201896, and I have two daughters. My daughter is afraid to change in the locker room because she knows another guy could come into the room. When I asked the principal, he told me there were no cross-gender bathroom policies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Other parents previously told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/author\/tony-kinnett\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Daily Signal<\/a>&nbsp;that their children changed in locker rooms with students of the opposite sex multiple times, and that this is standard practice in Glendale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The father finished by telling the Glendale board: \u201cAll of these fake people [pointing to several masked crowd members] are going to go away, and we\u2019re going to vote every one of you [pointing to the school board] out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 42 minutes into the meeting, Board President Nayiri Nahabedian stopped the public comment session as law enforcement locked down the building due to disturbances outside. The board meeting went into recess for almost 20 minutes while police attempted to manage the situation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to footage from Los Angeles news networks and on-site independent journalists, masked progressive protesters in pink bandanas and progress flags traded blows with Armenian and Hispanic parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"Fight breaks out in Glendale protest over sex education\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tuaoRLrZ80M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"Fight breaks out in Glendale protest over sex education\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tuaoRLrZ80M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Glendale police then announced over loudspeakers that the assembly was now considered \u201cunlawful\u201d and ordered the crowds of protesters to disperse. They then arrested at least three members of the crowd on \u201cvarious charges.\u201d The department did not specify either the affiliations of the suspects or the charges involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the speakers claim it is essential to teach children about LGBTQ+ topics, even though critics claim some of the materials are sexually explicit,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/05\/15\/texas-bill-could-remove-porn-from-school-libraries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even pornographic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSchools should teach kids to grow up in a diverse world, with different colors, religions, and sexualities,\u201d one woman shouted at the board. Most of the pro-LGBTQ+ speakers shouted into the microphone, causing it to short out momentarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several of the speakers turned their attention towards the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/06\/06\/breaking-southern-poverty-law-center-adds-parental-rights-groups-hate-map\/\" target=\"_blank\">parents protesting<\/a>\u00a0Glendale\u2019s LGBTQ+ policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A physical brawl breaks out between anti-LGBTQ protestors and LGBTQ supporters outside the Glendale unified school board meeting in Los Angeles. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jcqML9NmAi\">pic.twitter.com\/jcqML9NmAi<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Sergio Olmos (@MrOlmos) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MrOlmos\/status\/1666255971453390849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 7, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A man in a skirt, high-heel boots, and a women\u2019s leather jacket who claimed to have three daughters told the board: \u201cTheir ideology is the same as the Proud Boys. Hiding their hate behind their kids just as Proud Boys hide behind their masks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A speaker claiming to be a representative from the \u201cRevolutionary Communists\u201d told the board that all socialists had a duty to protect LGBTQ+ students from \u201cChristofascism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1666275924508114944?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">One Glendale teacher<\/a>&nbsp;used her time to lecture white and Armenian Americans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">[I volunteer] extensively in South LA and work with the children\u2019s hospital of Los Angeles with queer\/trans youth in large groups, and so I deal with a lot of their trauma related to the hetero-normative, Judeo-Christian, patriarchal, imperialist, capitalist system that oppresses them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">And so, I\u2019m not just here in support of our LGBTQ youths, it\u2019s all connected. I\u2019m here in support of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/01\/03\/axios-lies-for-arkansas-school-caught-teaching-critical-race-theory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Critical Race Theory<\/a>&nbsp;and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training because white people participate, for example, in the largest social welfare program in the history of the United States, and yet\u2014now they put their hands up in the air and look at our housing crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Armenians talk about the genocide that they received SSI, but they don\u2019t want to talk about the indigenous genocide in 1850, and the lack of reparations for indigenous and black people in this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">They don\u2019t want to talk about\u2014how dare you talk about how marginalized people come here\u2026and you don\u2019t want to talk about the oppressed trans youth who\u2026 you know those kids aren\u2019t even learning to learn in this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">[At this point a bell sounded as her time speaking was up]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">One in two will commit\u2014attempt suicide and 95% know that they are \u201ctrans\u201d when they are three, four, and five.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>While the teacher didn\u2019t explain what genocide occurred in 1850, what \u201cSSI\u201d was, or from what social welfare program \u201cwhite\u201d people supposedly benefit, progressive members of the crowd cheered as she sat down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 9 p.m. Pacific, crowds outside had not yet dispersed, though Glendale police were ordering all to leave or face arrest for unlawful assembly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Glendale Unified School District did not respond to The Daily Signal\u2019s request for comment on the events of June 6 or the district\u2019s LGBTQ+ policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Original Article: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/06\/06\/antifa-armenian-parents-clash-california-school-board-meeting-required-lgbtq-activities\/\">https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/06\/06\/antifa-armenian-parents-clash-california-school-board-meeting-required-lgbtq-activities\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several fights broke out between&nbsp;Antifa and parental rights activists&nbsp;outside of the Glendale Unified School District\u2019s administration Tuesday night during a school board meeting discussing LGBTQ+ curriculum.
