James Comer of Kentucky, who chairs the panel, was briefed on a document held by the FBI that makes allegations of a criminal scheme involving&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/comer-biden-family-compromised-must-learn-china-access-classified-docs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden<\/a>&nbsp;while he was vice president and a foreign national. The scheme Comer\u2019s panel has been investigating centers around payments made in exchange for certain policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comer has demanded\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/house-oversight-chair-initiates-contempt-congress-process-fbi-director-wray-sets-hearing-date\/\" target=\"_blank\">full access<\/a>\u00a0to the document, which has been subpoenaed by the panel, and said the briefing was not enough. James Comer (@RepJamesComer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepJamesComer\/status\/1665781931236007936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 5, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Comer called the informant who sent the tip to the FBI one of its \u201cmost highly credible human sources,\u201d who was paid a \u201csubstantial amount of money\u201d by the FBI, according to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/06\/06\/rep-anna-paulina-luna-says-fbi-afraid-biden-informant-will-be-killed-if-unmasked\/\" target=\"_blank\">New York Post<\/a>, citing an interview Comer had with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday\u2019s \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zgEFbwfIaRM\" target=\"_blank\">Hannity<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe had been a part of the bureau for 13 years, dating back to the Obama administration,\u201d Comer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comer said the form detailing allegations about foreign money trying to influence policies was from 2020, but contained information the FBI had been aware of as early as 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis particular document was dated in 2020. But there are notes in the document that date back to 2017. We believe that this human source initially informed the FBI of the bribery scheme back in 2017. So my question to the FBI was, \u2018What exactly have you done with this accusation?\u2019\u201d Comer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>House Judiciary Committee Chairman\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jim-jordan-leaked-fbi-memo-shows-disturbing-plot-spy-christians-churches\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Jordan<\/a>, an Ohio Republican, told Hannity on the same program that the form Comer is seeking \u201cjust isn\u2019t a document that\u2019s in the possession of the FBI \u2026 this is a document they created.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey had a credible source, one of their good sources, who they paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, bring this information to them, and then they create this document,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cWe want to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ohio Republican argued that the informant alleging the Biden bribery scheme is likely far more credible than British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who authored the infamous dossier against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2016 which the FBI used as the basis to launch an investigation into the Trump 2016 presidential campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Steele dossier was also key to the FBI\u2019s \u201cRussia collusion\u201d investigation that dogged years of of the Trump presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHow much you want to bet this source is a lot more credible than Christopher Steele, the guy who created the dossier that they used to go after President Trump? I bet you this source has a lot more credibility. But they will not let us see this document. I hope they do.
