Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) filed a resolution to expel Schiff for claims he made about allegations members of former President Donald Trump\u2019s 2016 campaign colluded with Russian operatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKnowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office,\u201d Luna wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added, \u201cEthics should investigate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/A8rTBPY77Z\">pic.twitter.com\/A8rTBPY77Z<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Anna Paulina Luna (@realannapaulina) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realannapaulina\/status\/1658973025096613888?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 17, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resolution comes after Special Counsel John Durham&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ijr.com\/cnn-host-durhams-exonerate-trump-russia-probe\/\">released his report<\/a>&nbsp;detailing the conclusions of his investigation of the FBI\u2019s Russia probe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His report concluded the investigation was launched\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/special-counsel-john-durham-report-origins-trump-russia-investigation-finally-released\" target=\"_blank\">without a proper basis<\/a>. It also laid out a series of criticisms about the FBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Durham\u2019s report was released, Schiff<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/adam-schiff-repeatedly-claimed-evidence-russian-collusion-denounces-durham-report-flawed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;told MSNBC<\/a>&nbsp;the investigation was \u201cstarted in a flawed manner, it was conducted in a flawed manner, and its conclusion is a flawed conclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also insisted it was a \u201cwasted effort\u201d and \u201cfour years of undermining the Department [of justice] and a political prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The California Democrat had previously claimed he had evidence members of the Trump campaign colluded with Russian operatives ahead of the 2016 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an appearance on CNN in February, he&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ijr.com\/cnn-schiff-claim-direct-evidence-russian-collusion\/\">defended<\/a>&nbsp;his assertion as he said, \u201cIf you read the Mueller report, he makes clear even in the first few pages of the report that he states no conclusion on whether Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He went on to note former Special Counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s investigation found Trump\u2019s campaign manager shared internal polling data with a Russian operative and added, \u201cTo most Americans, that is collusion. Now, whether it\u2019s proof beyond a reasonable doubt of the crime of conspiracy \u2014 that\u2019s what Bob Mueller was talking about \u2014 I have always distinguished between the two.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ijr.com\/kevin-mccarthy-goes-back-forth-reporter\/\">blocked<\/a>&nbsp;Schiff, the former intelligence committee chairman, from continuing to serve on the panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He argued Schiff \u201clied to the American public\u201d during his time on the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In case you missed it:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Holy shit.
