With just two words, the top uniformed officer in the Customs and Border Protection agency sent shockwaves across official Washington two months ago when asked whether his agency has operational control of the southern U.S. border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nNo, sir.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, sir,\u201d Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz told Congress in a shocking admission that exposed just how badly border security has deteriorated under Joe Biden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time, illegal crossings at the border in March were averaging 5,000 a day, far more than the historical average of 2,000 daily at the end of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By last week, those crossing had exploded to a record 10,000 a day<\/a><\/strong> as the pandemic-related Title 42 order allowing migrants to be turned away expired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Border officials say illegal crossings will soon shoot up to 11,000 to 16,000 daily. With each increase under Biden, more border patrol agents are being torn from their security roles and moved to process migrants and release them into the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brandon Judd, a border patrol agent and the president of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing border agent, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nWhen the total hits 16,000 daily, only 10% of available border agents will be on patrol and the drug cartels will have full control.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Judd explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n[T]he crisis point will emerge in a few weeks when media attention to the end of Title 42 subsides and the cartels take full advantage.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Judd told the John Solomon Reports podcast on Friday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nAs the talk starts to die down, as you start to see the media go away from the border, that\u2019s when we\u2019re going to see the numbers start to shoot right back up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we can expect post-Title 42, we can expect that our numbers are going to go up anywhere between 13,000 to 16,000 apprehensions per day.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Judd provided unprecedented detail on how border security patrols decrease as illegal migrants rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nWhen we\u2019re apprehending 3,000 people, we\u2019re pulling resources out of the field. We don\u2019t have as many Border Patrol agents patrolling the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we\u2019re apprehending 5,000 people a day\u2014now we only have 50% of our border patrol agents patrolling the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we hit 10,000 apprehensions a day, that means we\u2019re only deploying 30% of our border patrol agents to patrol the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And when that happens, the cartels are able to gain ground on the vast majority of our border, as they start controlling the vast majority of our border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once those numbers go up to 13,000 to 16,000, we\u2019re only going to have 10% of our border patrol agents actively patrolling the border, and the cartels will own every inch of the border.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Border Patrol Union President:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nMajor border increase won\u2019t be now but in coming weeks, cartels know too much media attention now.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Judd and other officials said there has been a substantial rise in deadly fentanyl, human trafficking, and crime inside the United States, but Americans aren\u2019t prepared for how bad it could get in the next few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Rep. Mayra Flores, R-Texas, whose husband serves in the border patrol, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nIt\u2019s going to get really bad. I\u2019m worried about our country. I\u2019m worried about the innocent children as well that are being brought to the United States illegally, then abandoned in the middle of nowhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our border patrol agents are exhausted. They can\u2019t apprehend everyone coming in. So, you have cartels taking advantage of our weak immigration policies. We have terrorists taking advantage of our weak policies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Even prominent Leftists have begun sounding the alarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Communist\/Globalist El Paso, Texas, Mayor Oscar Leeser warned after declaring an emergency in his border city that includes blocking access to streets if necessary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nThere is no end game.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He told PBS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nWe have already closed the streets. We will continue to close streets as needed to be, because one of the things that\u2019s really important to us\u2014that we do protect asylum seekers but also make sure that our community stays protected.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The Obiden Regime is doubling down on its policies, having allowed Title 42 to expire Friday and on Saturday announcing it would appeal a federal judge\u2019s order blocking it from releasing illegal aliens into the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Regime is sending mixed signals concerning this ongoing catastrophe\u2014the contradiction of their stories is beyond troubling. Necessary changes to current border policies are not being called for, however, Secretary of State Antony Blinken raises concern that just to the south in Mexico cartels are gaining control of certain areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blinken\u2019s claim drew a sharp rebuke from Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who called his assertion false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lopez Obrador told reporters during a news conference Friday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
