{"id":3147,"date":"2023-05-01T11:59:16","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T16:59:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nakedpolitics.net\/?p=3147"},"modified":"2023-05-01T11:59:17","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T16:59:17","slug":"bud-light-seeks-to-move-past-dylan-mulvaney-fiasco-with-countrified-ad-disables-youtube-comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nakedpolitics.net\/?p=3147","title":{"rendered":"Bud Light seeks to move past Dylan Mulvaney fiasco with \u2018countrified\u2019 ad \u2013 disables YouTube comments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bud Light has released a new, more traditional advertisement showing young people drinking beer in the rain at a country music festival as the brand seeks to move beyond the Dylan Mulvaney disaster, but the negative feedback resulted in the disabling of comments on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the 30-second spot that first aired during Thursday\u2019s NFL draft, four evidently heterosexual friends pop the tops on the familiar blue and white cans while the Zac Brown Band\u2019s song \u201cChicken Fried\u201d plays in the background, holding the cans in the air as they walk off and rain pours down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the days since the ad was posted to YouTube, it drew more than 8 million views but only about 250 likes, indicating how difficult it will likely be for Bud Light to win back the customers it alienated by wading into the culture wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"BUD LIGHT SHOWER BEER | EASY TO DRINK EASY TO ENJOY :30\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Yvuj-OBQCP4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"BUD LIGHT SHOWER BEER | EASY TO DRINK EASY TO ENJOY :30\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Yvuj-OBQCP4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One Twitter user\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dawgsmack\/status\/1652171240612798467?s=20\" target=\"_blank\">called out<\/a>\u00a0the ad\u2019s blatant pandering, \u201cA commercial that shows cowboys &amp; cowgirls at a rodeo where it\u2019s started to pour down rain while the Zac Brown Band plays \u2018Chicken Fried\u2019 is Bud Light\u2019s latest commercial. Real smart, piss off that demographic, then cynically try to lure them back with this. Don\u2019t fall for it.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust saw your new throwback commercial showing the good old days. Cowards,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12030891\/Bud-Light-accused-cowardice-turning-YouTube-comments-new-commercial-set-heartlands.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;another. \u201cThe good old days are gone until you address the womanface situation. You underestimate our memory, further insulting us. 1 solid month of insult, and now you think we are coming back.
