Ron DeSantis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two-time failed Democratic presidential candidate tweeted out a throwback photo of a very young Hillary and Bill posing with Donald Duck, along with daughter Chelsea \u2014 all three were rocking goofy-looking Donald Duck hats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs Republicans declare war on Disney, I know whose side I\u2019m on\u2026,\u201d the caption read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">As Republicans declare war on Disney, I know whose side I&#39;m on&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/THiLKOzo8v\">pic.twitter.com\/THiLKOzo8v<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HillaryClinton\/status\/1648339948045496320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 18, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Democrats are looking to politicize the issue as yet another avenue to besmirch DeSantis, who is widely seen as a Republican who can defeat President Biden in 2024 should he run and emerge from the GOP primary as the nominee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DeSantis took on Disney when the company intervened in the passing of a parents\u2019 rights bill that banned sexual instruction in K-3 grades. Not only did Disney say the bill \u201cshould never have passed and should never have been signed into law,\u201d but the company vowed to actively engage in overturning the law.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In taking exception to the interference, DeSantis set forth to strip Disney\u2019s control of a special district granted back in the 60s that allowed the company to essentially govern itself, explaining that the time had come to establish a level playing field since Disney\u2019s competitors did not share the same advantage. Disney tried to pull a fast one when the outgoing district board it controlled passed an agreement that lets it retain most of its power for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, Gov. DeSantis detailed Florida\u2019s response to that play and shared this message on Twitter: \u201cDisney\u2019s sloppy and futile attempt to subvert the will of the Legislature and Floridians was uncovered by our state oversight board and their 11th hour agreements will be nullified by the Legislature.
