Congress last approved a debt ceiling increase in December 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Also in January, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the federal borrowing limit will need to be increased by June of this year to prevent a default on America\u2019s national debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">\u201cWithout exaggeration, American debt is a ticking time bomb that will detonate unless we take serious, responsible action,\u201d McCarthy said Monday. \u201cYet how has President Biden reacted to this issue? He has done nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>McCarthy shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s our plan,\u201d McCarthy said. \u201cIn the coming weeks the House will vote on a bill to lift the debt ceiling into the next year, save taxpayers trillions of dollars, make us less dependent upon China, curb our high inflation \u2014 all without touching Social Security and Medicare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But on the War Room, Rep.
