Then he noted Kristina Wong, who similarly posted a meme about texting your vote, and yet has faced no legal consequences. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wong was a Hillary Clinton voter. Mackey was a Trump supporter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another double standard? It\u2019s hard to imagine that if protesters were regularly showing up at the homes of Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Jackson Brown, there would be no prosecution. (Especially if, as happened with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/tag\/brett-kavanaugh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justice Brett Kavanaugh<\/a>, one of those justices had someone come to their street planning to assassinate them.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot a single person has been prosecuted for illegally harassing Supreme Court justices outside of their homes,\u201d Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., said last month. \u201cThe reason is crystal clear: The Department of Justice has willfully chosen not to enforce federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a hearing, \u201cBritt said&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/tag\/doj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the DOJ explicitly discouraged<\/a>&nbsp;U.S. Marshals from enforcing the law against the protesters without coordination with the relevant U.S. attorney\u2019s office, warning that it would be \u2018counterproductive\u2019 for the marshals to make arrests on cases that the DOJ \u2018will not charge and prosecute,&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/03\/29\/doj-discouraged-marshals-arresting-illegal-protesters-supreme-court-justices-homes-senator-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;my colleague Mary Margaret Olohan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. Marshals have been stationed outside Supreme Court justices\u2019 homes in the wake of the ongoing protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another key example of this judicial double standard is the enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, a 1994 law intended to protect both abortion clinics and pregnancy resource centers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/protecting-patients-and-health-care-providers#:~:text=The%20FACE%20Act%20is%20not,facility%20providing%20reproductive%20health%20care.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justice Department website states<\/a>, \u201cThe FACE Act is not about abortions.&nbsp;The statute protects all patients, providers, and facilities that provide reproductive health services, including pro-life pregnancy counseling services and any other pregnancy support facility providing reproductive health care.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But based on the numbers, the FACE Act as currently enforced&nbsp;<em>is<\/em>&nbsp;\u201cabout abortions.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/tag\/chip-roy\" target=\"_blank\">Rep. Chip Roy<\/a>, R-Texas, who is leading a group of lawmakers calling for defunding the Justice Department\u2019s enforcement of the FACE act, noted there\u2019s a significant disparity in the current enforcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn 2022, the FACE Act was used more than two dozen times against pro-life activists, including Mark Houck, Father Fidelis Moscinski, Lauren Handy, Herb Geraghty, and a Holocaust survivor,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/04\/03\/exclusive-lawmakers-call-defund-face-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote Roy<\/a>&nbsp;in a letter first reported on by The Daily Signal and signed by 11 other House Republicans. \u201cPrior to this year, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/02\/22\/biden-doj-charges-eight-more-pro-life-activists-with-violating-face-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FACE Act had never<\/a>&nbsp;been used to indict individuals related to an attack on a pro-life pregnancy center or house of worship.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that\u2019s not because pregnancy resource centers aren\u2019t facing violence. Since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, was leaked last year, there have been 83 attacks on pregnancy centers and pro-life groups, according to a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/catholicvote.org\/pregnancy-center-attack-tracker\/\" target=\"_blank\">Catholic Vote tracker<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One center attacked was the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center in Lynchburg, Virginia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey had taken crowbars to almost all of our windows, two of our doors, and just shattered all of the glass,\u201d Susan Campbell, the center\u2019s executive director,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2022\/08\/07\/inside-a-pregnancy-center-that-pro-abortion-vandals-attacked\/\" target=\"_blank\">told The Daily Signal<\/a>\u00a0in an interview last year. \u201cThey had spray-painted [the shapes of] coat hangers on the sidewalks, on the brick facing of the buildings, and [wrote] political things like \u2018Vote blue.\u2019 In red on the stamped concrete, it read \u2018If abortion ain\u2019t safe, you ain\u2019t safe.\u2019\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet there have only been four arrests made for the attacks on all pregnancy resource centers, suggesting either that those attacking the pregnancy centers are criminal masterminds, or, more plausibly, it\u2019s a low priority for the Justice Department to track down and charges these individuals. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not OK.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our justice system is supposed to enforce the law without fear or favor, not promote a particular agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s happened to Trump is just the most prominent example of the justice system\u2019s<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>corruption.
