A pro-life activist who has not been charged is said to have recorded the incident while stating that the group was \u201cgoing over to stand in front of the door\u201d and \u201cinterpose.\u201d The indictment also alleges that the eight defendants used physical obstruction to intimidate the abortion facility employees and patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEW: The DOJ has charged eight more pro-life activists with violating the FACE Act related to an August 2020 incident at a Sterling Heights, Michigan abortion clinic.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/He47Vd1z7n\">https:\/\/t.co\/He47Vd1z7n<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1628481770810142722?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 22, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Idoni and Edl were also charged with allegedly blocking an abortion business entrance in April 2021 in Saginaw, Michigan, and with alleged intimidation of employees and patients there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DOJ\u2019s Civil Rights Division and the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan are prosecuting the case, which comes less than two months after the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/sidewalk-counselor-mark-houck-acquitted-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acquittal<\/a>&nbsp;of another pro-life activist who had been charged with violating the FACE Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That activist,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/couple-praises-fbi-sidewalk-counselor-mark-houck\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mark Houck<\/a>, was\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/fbi-raids-pro-life-traumatize-children\/\" target=\"_blank\">arrested<\/a>\u00a0at gunpoint by 15-20 FBI agents in front of his young children in September 2022 in connection to an incident in which he is said to have shoved a Planned Parenthood abortion facility escort who may have\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/law-firm-planned-parenthood-escort-training-manual\/\" target=\"_blank\">broken<\/a>\u00a0escort protocol to harass Houck\u2019s 12-year-old son. Houck was acquitted of all charges on January 30, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/02\/22\/biden-doj-charges-eight-more-pro-life-activists-with-violating-face-act\/\">Daily Signal<\/a>, Biden\u2019s DOJ charged 26 pro-life activists with FACE Act violations in 2022, but failed to charge a single pro-abortion activist with FACE Act violations last year despite numerous&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-pregnancy-centers-targeted-violence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attacks<\/a>&nbsp;on pro-life pregnancy centers, which are also protected by the FACE Act. In January 2023, the DOJ did finally&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/doj-indicts-florida-residents-vandalism-pregnancy-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indict<\/a>&nbsp;two pro-abortion activists who attacked pro-life facilities in Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Edl is the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/87-concentration-camp-survivor-pro-lifers-fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\">survivor<\/a>\u00a0of a World War II communist prisoner-of-war concentration camp. After escaping that camp and coming to the United States, she began to fight for the right to life for all human beings.
