Florida Governor Ron DeSantis accepted an invitation to speak at a Staten Island, NY law enforcement event in Annadale, the kick-off for his pro-police tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his speech, at the event hosted by the New York State Fraternal Order of Police, the Florida governor talked about the \u201cneed for safer communities.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His visit to the Big Apple was not without controversy. Foes of the governor made their feelings known about the Republican governor and his policies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NYC Mayor Eric Adams welcomed DeSantis with a snarky tweet filled with popular Leftist lies and misconceptions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nHe wrote, \u201cWelcome to NYC, a place where we don\u2019t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care.\u201d \u201cWe\u2019re happy to teach you something about values while you\u2019re here,\u201d Mayor Adams continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He wrote, \u201cWelcome to NYC, a place where we don\u2019t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems as though the mayor is in favor of grooming young children in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is he also against sanctuary cities accepting the very people they claim to welcome with their sanctuary city policies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are those the values he means?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And, what policy has the governor pushed that keeps women from healthcare?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabien Levy, the mayor\u2019s press secretary, shared the mayor\u2019s tweet and added, \u201cFlorida man today visits best city in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quite clever, getting the Florida man meme in there, but \u201cbest city in the world\u201d? That\u2019s up for debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a 2022 Time Out survey, New York City barely broke the top 20, coming in at number 20, a far cry from number one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DeSantis campaign spokeswoman, Christina Pushaw, didn\u2019t waste any time firing back at the mayor\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nShe tweeted in response, \u201cNice rhetoric \u2013 but here\u2019s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year. More Americans moved to Florida than any other state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know this, Mayor Adams, and you\u2019ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC,\u201d Pushaw said. \u201cFlorida\u2019s crime rate meanwhile is at a 50-year low.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
