According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll, the majority of Americans surveyed said they don\u2019t believe President Joe Biden \u201chas achieved much since taking office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump were held today, 48% of respondents said they\u2019d vote for Trump; 44% for Biden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the poll, 62% of Americans said Biden has accomplished \u201cnot very much\u201d or \u201clittle or nothing\u201d since he\u2019s been in office; 12% said he accomplished \u201ca great deal,\u201d 25% said he\u2019s accomplished \u201ca good amount.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn many of Biden\u2019s signature initiatives \u2013 from improving the country\u2019s infrastructure to making electric vehicles more affordable to creating jobs \u2013 majorities of Americans say they do not believe he has made progress,\u201d the Washington Post reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the poll, the majority surveyed disapprove of his job two years into presidency. His approval rating, according to the poll, is 42%; 53% expressed disapproval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A majority, 58%, also disapproved of his handling of the economy; 37% said they approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Related: Biden Repeatedly Heckled During State of the Union Speech, Argues With Republicans in Wild Display<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On the issue of border security, 59% expressed disapproval, 28% approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among those surveyed, 14% said they had a great deal of confidence in Biden\u2019s ability to make the right decisions for the country\u2019s future; 45% said they had \u201cnone at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Only 9% said they had a \u201cgreat deal of confidence\u201d in congressional Republicans\u2019 ability to make the right decisions for the country\u2019s future; 36% said they had \u201cnone at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Slightly more, 12%, said they had a \u201cgreat deal of confidence\u201d in congressional Democrats\u2019 ability to make the right decisions for the country\u2019s future; 39% said \u201cnone at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Only 5% said they had a \u201cgreat deal of confidence\u201d in Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy; 36% said they had \u201cnone at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n A strong majority of respondents said Biden hasn\u2019t made progress on four issues cited in the poll. When it comes to making electric vehicles more affordable, 26% said he\u2019d made progress, 56% said he hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On lowering prescription drug costs, 30% said he had; 47% said he hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On improving roads and bridges, 32% said he\u2019d made improvement; 60% said he hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On creating more good jobs in their communities, 34% said he had; 60% said he hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Democratic respondents were asked if they would like the Democratic Party to nominate Biden to run for a second term in 2024 or nominate someone else, 31% said Biden; 58% said someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Republican respondents were asked the same question about Trump, 67% said they wanted Trump to be nominated; 30% said someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
