FBI Agent Says Biden Transition Team, Secret Service Were Tipped Off on 2020 Plans To Interview Hunter Biden

FBI Agent Says Biden Transition Team, Secret Service Were Tipped Off on 2020 Plans To Interview Hunter Biden

An FBI supervisory special agent disclosed that the Biden transition team and Secret Service headquarters were given a heads-up in December 2020 regarding a planned interview with Hunter Biden, according to Fox News.

The FBI agent’s revelation was made in closed door testimony last month before the House Oversight Committee, the report noted.

This advance notice put the kibosh on planned interviews with the president-elect’s son, despite the younger Biden being the focus of a federal inquiry, according to the Fox report.

“Tipping off the transition team and not being able to interview Hunter Biden as planned are just a couple of examples that reveal the Justice Department’s misconduct in the Biden criminal investigation that occurred under U.S. Attorney Weiss’ watch,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) told Fox News.

The report noted the outlet obtained an exclusive copy of transcribed testimony from the agent’s July 17 appearance. The FBI agent reportedly retired after more than 20 years of service with the agency.

The agent’s testimony drew attention to the internal decision-making surrounding the investigation, raising allegations of potential bias and political interference.

Whistleblowers allegate prosecutorial decisions made throughout the Hunter Biden investigation led by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, were influenced by politics.

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley previously testified the Biden transition team and Secret Service were “tipped off” about a planned interview of Hunter Biden. The FBI agent’s testimony corroborates Shapley’s allegation.

The day before Hunter’s interview was scheduled, the FBI agent was allegedly informed they were prohibited from going near Hunter Biden’s residence and forced to share essential contact details with the Secret Service.

Attorney General Merrick Garland Friday appointed Weiss as special counsel to look into the investigation of Hunter Biden and any other matters that may arise during his probe.

“The Oversight Committee has no confidence in U.S. Attorney Weiss as Special Counsel given his inability to prevent the Biden transition team from being contacted, and federal agents were not permitted to interview Hunter Biden as planned,” Rep. Comer said.

The Oversight Committee chairman noted investigators in the Weiss-led probe were blocked from action that may have incriminated Joe Biden.

Comer also claimed Weiss’ investigation failed to pursue certain felonies until after the statute of limitations time-barred prosecution of them.

He concluded condemnation of Weiss by noting the U.S. Attorney’s office offered Hunter Biden “an unprecedented sweetheart plea deal.”
